    • 1). Tie one end of a yarn skein to the upper left corner potholder peg. Stretch the yarn down around the opposite end peg, bring the yarn back up to the next top peg. Continue threading back and forth across the loom to complete the warp foundation threads. Cut the yarn.

    • 2). Fold the index card in half and wrap 2 ounces of yarn around the index card.

    • 3). Tie one end of the index card wrapped yarn to the same upper left corner potholder peg that began the warp threading process.

    • 4). Extend the yarn to the top unused peg on the left side of the loom. Pull the yarn over and under each warp thread to the right, stretching the yarn gently to create the woof threads.

    • 5). Wrap the woof threads around the loom right side pegs to travel from right to left, traveling under and over the opposite warp threads of the previous row.

    • 6). Continue until all woof threads have been woven. Cut the yarn and tie it to the bottom left side loom peg. Lift the woven square off the loom pegs.

    • 7). Repeat all steps to complete 12 white woven squares and 12 blue woven squares.

    • 8). Thread the tapestry needle with yarn and sew the squares together in a checkerboard design to complete the rug.
