    • 1). Resist panicking or beating yourself up. Remember that a diet is not ruined by a single overindulgence within a period of healthy behavior. However, do not fall into the trap of thinking that you have completely blown your diet. Do not give yourself permission to give up on your healthy lifestyle.

    • 2). Drink carbonated water, or a spoonful of baking soda dissolved in a glass of water, to settle your stomach.

    • 3). Go for a long walk around the neighborhood to help the food digest.

    • 4). Over the next few days, avoid foods that are rich or high in salt. Stick to healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits and lean meats. Drink lots of water. Eat fiber-rich foods to prevent the constipation that sometimes accompanies overeating.
