How to Make a Beautiful Paper Airplane

    • 1). Fold a square piece of paper along both its diagonals, crease and open it again to get the original square with creases. Use a colored paper or a gift wrap paper to get a more attractive airplane. You can use a paper with an army camouflage pattern for a military look.

    • 2). Fold one edge of the paper to meet the diagonal center line, then fold the opposite edge to meet the other diagonal line. The paper should now be a trapezium shape with two parallel lines joined by two sloping lines.

    • 3). Fold the top of the trapezium, which is the shorter of the two parallel edges, along the crease made in Step 1 that is parallel to it. The paper should now look like a shorter trapezium.

    • 4). Fold the new top of the trapezium to meet the old top of the trapezium. You should get an even shorter trapezium.

    • 5). Fold the paper in two so that the two angled sides meet. The paper should now look almost like a rectangle, except that one edge is slanted.

    • 6). Turn the paper so that the slanted edge is at the top. Draw a horizontal line approximately 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the paper to the top of the shorter side. Fold the the two top slanted edges outward along the line you just drew, then let the folds relax. The paper airplane is now finished, and should look like a flat trapezium with folds in the middle that form a handle underneath at a right angle.

    • 7). Decorate the plane with coloring pens and glitter glue. Use only decorating items that are light to optimize its flying power.
