Choose "Start New City" and you'll receive the hidden version of that map. These maps are not significantly better than the originals, but several of them are quite good. The hidden versions of map 112 and map 492 are among the highest for percentage of usable land.

Your city treasury must be at $0 when the tax screen appears at the end of December. Hold down the "L" button on the SNES controller. Select "Go With Figures" on the tax screen without releasing the "L" button. Reopen the tax screen. Change all of the tax percentages to 100%.. Release the "L" button after exiting the tax screen. You will now have $999,999 in your city treasury.

    No Tax Payment Glitch

    • There is a glitch in the Super Nintendo version of "Sim City" that allows players to cheat and avoid paying taxes. This glitch will also cause the player to receive the full benefit of each tax category as though he or she paid 100% of the taxes requested. Turn off the Auto-Budget feature in the options screen. Wait until the end of the year for the tax screen to appear. Set each tax category to 0% and select "Go With Figures." Save the game as soon as you leave the tax screen. Load the saved game after the game finishes saving. Your city will receive the benefits of paying 100% to each tax category, but no funds will be deducted from the city treasury.
