    • 1). Choose a piece of origami paper in your preferred color. Fold the top of the paper down to meet the bottom, to make a horizontal crease. Crease well and unfold.

    • 2). Fold the left side of the paper over to meet the right side, to form a vertical crease. Crease well and unfold.

    • 3). Fold each corner in to meet the center of the paper. The result is a smaller square with four triangular flaps. This is a "blintz" origami base fold.

    • 4). Turn the paper over. Fold each of the four corners in to meet the center again, forming another blintz.

    • 5). Repeat Step 4 to make another blintz fold.

    • 6). Turn the piece of paper over. Unfold, and flatten the top and bottom flaps so that they are pointed upward and downward, respectively. The result is a flap on the left and right sides of the paper, with two square shapes at the top and bottom.

    • 7). Grasp the remaining flaps by the inside corners. Fold the inside corners of these flaps out toward the outside corners. The result should closely resemble the flaps you unfolded in Step 6.

    • 8). Continue unfolding the flaps you were working with in Step 7. This should result in a flat triangle on both the left and right side of the paper.

    • 9). Fold the triangle on the left underneath the paper along the two creases that meet in a point. Repeat on the right side. The result is the two unfolded flaps from Step 6 are on the top and bottom with the folded triangles hidden underneath. The paper is now a horizontal diamond shape.

Lay the paper down flat. The paper should have a square at the top with the hidden folds underneath hanging down on the right and left sides.

    • 11

Fold the rear flap of the paper, from the opposite side, downward. Take hold of the corners of the hanging flaps mentioned in Step 10 and overlap them.

Fold the tips of the corners you overlapped in Step 11 over one another so that they are locked together. Your origami camera is now complete.
