How to Use Command to Change FAT32 to NTFS in Windows 2000 Professional

    • 1). Boot into your Windows 2000 operating system. Make sure that the hard drive you wish to convert is attached to the computer before you boot up.

    • 2). Click on the "Start" button, click on the "Run" button, type "cmd" and then press the "Enter" key.

    • 3). Type "convert x: /fs:ntfs" where "x" is the drive letter of the drive you want to convert from FAT32 to NTFS. This command immediately processes the conversion and changes the drive file system over to the NTFS file system.
