Everyone has been blessed with mental faculties, and thinking certainly isn't exclusive to people holding positions in office, but as leaders, your thinking has to include what is beneficial for the plenary you serve. Set goals that are SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. One you have the structure down, it is time for you to disseminate the information by talking. As someone once said, "You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can't get them across, your ideas won't get you anywhere." The way you speak your thoughts is the first key to impressing your audience. As a leader, if you can impress them with style and with substance, then you can lead them to where you need to get them.

Last but not the least of leadership communication skills is taking mental notes, which refers to feedback. It's not enough to think up a good idea and to express it to your audience. It is also important to be able to pay attention to their reactions while you are telling them about your idea.
