How to Access a Lost Password
- 1). Click the "Start" button, then "Run."
- 2). Type "Control Userpasswords2" in the text box, without quotes. Click "OK." The User Accounts window will display.
- 3). Click on the user with the lost password and click "Reset Password."
- 4). Enter a new password and click "OK." Click "OK" again to reset the password.
- 1). Click "Restart" on the login window.
- 2). Hold down COMMAND and S while the computer is restarting. Keep holding until you see text scrolling. You will see a Localhost% prompt that looks like this:
/sbin/mount -uw /
/sbin/SystemStarter - 3). Type passwd root when the Localhost% prompt reappears.
- 4). Type your new password twice, then type reboot.
- 5). Wait for the login window to appear. Type in your new password with username = root.
