Becoming a boxer is a gradual process.
You have to start from the ground and work your up to the top.
Boxing as a career can be rewarding and in past many sportsmen have become millionaires.
Boxing requires a tough, intensive and persistent training because this sport can and is very dangerous and in few cases fatal as well.
You need to have a strong body, strong stamina and good health in order to become a boxer.
However, these can be achieved by the intensive training as well.
If you don't have any physical disability, you can become a boxer.
Following are given few steps to help you in this regard.
The first thing, which you need to do, is to register yourself as a member of an allied boxing club.
Gather information about boxing clubs that are located close to you.
You can search in universities, health clubs or on internet.
Internet is a very reliable source that you can use to gather information about boxing clubs.
As we have explained in introductory paragraph that some intensive training is required to become a boxer.
You have to prepare yourself for that training period of six to twelve months duration.
In the training you will be taught fundamentals of boxing such as offense, defense, combination, ring craft shadowboxing, stance and boxing rules.
Training is vital for any learner, as he/she will become familiar with sport along with useful skills.
Once you and your coach is sure that you are now enough trained and ready to face the challenge, then register yourself as a competitor.
Remember, these matches are just for the purpose of gaining some practical experience and skills and hence, may not be scored.
These matches are simply to help you prepare yourself for real matches.
For further improving your skills and techniques, you can visit boxing club and fight with another boxer of similar weight, age, gender, and skill level.
These matches will not only help you improving your skills but other boxer also.
This is the stage where you should be now qualified for beginners' developmental tournaments.
It is prerequisite for amateur boxers to compete in eleven bouts before he or she can compete in provincial championships.
Once you win the provincial championship, you will now ready to compete at national championships.
Various boxing tournaments shows are held nationally and internationally at different occasions, one should avail all these chances by participating in them.
By this you will not only enhance your boxing skills, but with good performance you will get some fame as well.
No doubt boxing is a great sport but it is also important to mention here about the risks involve in this sport.
Normally, these risks are not emphasized much but it is important to know that some boxers in past have seriously been deformed, injured or even killed in boxing matches.
But still it is a popular sport and nothing more.
