6 is a small, light and affordable telephoto zoom lens with an impressive focal length range.
This telephoto lens is more than suitable for every day needs, but because it is an "EF-S" lens it is worth mentioning that it can only work on a aps-c/1.
6x body, so just make sure it fits your camera if your thinking of purchasing this lens.
This is more or less an entry level zoom, there are also others out there as well and like them the build quality on the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.

6 isn't excellent but for everyday use its more than adequate.
The focus ring isn't very smooth but it is by no means terrible on the other hand the zoom ring is pretty good and allows smooth transitions throughout the zoom ranges.
The autofocus speed on this lens is relatively slow so if you were thinking of shooting sports with this lens you will want to look at a different lens, however for slow moving objects this isn't a problem, this is also helped out by the f4-f5.
6 aperture which gives a large depth of field.
An excellent feature of this lens is the image stabilisation which allows you to minimise the amount of camera shake, this is especially useful when shooting at the higher zoom range.
The sharpness of the lens isn't great, the centre point is good but as you get further out the image tends to become a lot softer.
Keeping your subject in the centre of the image will allow the sharpest results but we all know that having the subject in the centre of the image does nothing for our composition of the photo most of the time.
Overall the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.

6 is an affordable zoom lens for the beginner photographer, however if you want a much better lens and you're willing to spend a little extra I would recommend the Canon 70-200mm f4l lens which is part of their professional series of lenses.
However if you're looking for an inexpensive zoom lens which is light to carry and has image stabilisation then this may be the lens for you.
