How to Build a Wood Single Corner Shelf
- 1). Mark out a V-shaped 45-degree angle on a piece of 1/2-inch plywood with a square and pencil. The depth of the shelf will be up to you, and will depend on how far you wish the shelf to extend out from the corner.
- 2). Put on safety glasses and cut the plywood with a miter saw along the 45-degree angle. You should now have a V-shaped piece of wood that will fit into a corner.
- 3). Sand the plywood shelf with medium-grit sandpaper, removing any splinters of wood. Then brush off the sawdust with a paintbrush.
- 4). Paint your wood corner shelf with a color of your choosing, if you wish, using a paintbrush, and let dry for two to three hours.
- 5). Apply a coat of polyurethane to the wood corner shelf with a clean paintbrush, going in the direction of the wood grain. Let the polyurethane dry completely, then fasten your wood shelf to a corner with L-shape brackets using screws and a screw gun.
