Bathroom floor mats needs to be cleaned. There are some special considerations you need to have for these else you will ruin them.
One type of rug or floor covering on your home that gets extremely dirty are your bathroom floor mats. These get wet because of shower and bath tub run off. They suffer the effects of humidity. And they get the normal dirty and grime that a bathroom gets. These conditions make these floor mats and rugs dirty. How can you get these properly cleaned?
First of all, you have to realize why your normal washer and dryer process is not good for these rugs in many cases. These rugs are made with a special backing on them. These are normally a made out of rubber and need some special handling when washing and drying them out.
The problem is that if the backing gets too warm at any point during the process it can melt, clump up, and fall off. Once the protective backing is gone the rug will slip, soak up way too much water, stink more, and even come apart.
It's best if you choose to use a washing machine to use cold water. While cold water doesn't clean as well, it will help protect the backing much better. You can also do a soak in warmer water if you wish first. When it's not moving, the warm water won't do as much damage.
When you dry the rug, do not use a dryer. This will ruin the rug completely in many cases. Hang the rug to dry. This will help it last quite a bit longer than they do when you use them in washers and dryers all the time.
Another option is to just wash these rugs in your bathtub. They are right in the same room and can be effectively washed right there if you wish. This is a much better way to wash the rugs if you want to keep them around longer.
