How to Mend a Knit Scarf
- 1). Lay the scarf on a flat surface with the hole facing you.
- 2). Thread the darning needle with knitted thread the same color as the scarf.
- 3). Insert the needle into the scarf 1/2-inch below and 1/2-inch beside the hole.
- 4). Stitch the knitted wool vertically across the hole, turn directions and stitch back across the hole. Space the stitch rows according to the existing stitches in the scarf.
- 5). Stitch horizontally across the hole once you've finished the vertical stitches. Begin at the bottom and end of the hole. Ensure the stitches are spaced similarly to the existing stitch rows.
- 6). Weave the end of the thread through a small area on the scarf, cut the thread and tie it off to secure it.
