Reasons for Increased Blood Sugar Levels

104 177

    Food Intake

    • The primary reason for raised blood sugar levels is dependent on your own food intake. Blood glucose will naturally rise after any meal, whereupon it will be processed and then lower.

    Diabetes

    • If blood sugar is continually raised and does not normalize, it means that you have developed one of two types of insulin resistance: diabetes type 1 or diabetes type 2.

    Infection

    • Infection in diabetics will cause blood sugar levels to be outside the norm; blood sugar must be carefully controlled or the diabetes won't heal.

    Exercise

    • Exercise helps you lose weight because it pulls stored sugar from fat cells and introduces it into the blood stream before processing it. This causes a temporary rise in blood sugar.

    Unbrushed Teeth or Dental Disease

    • There is a close connection between dental health and normalized blood sugar. Blood sugars rise when teeth are not brushed, or in the presence of any dental decay or disease.
