Video Transcript

Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, and today I'm gonna talk to you about peel and stick versus glue down vinyl planks. Some of the benefits to peel and stick tile is it's very quick installation. All you have to do is have a very clean surface, peel your backing off of your planks, put it in to place, and firmly press. When it goes around the sides, all you have to do is I usually take a razor blade, cut it and slide it into place. Now, with the glue down planks, it's a little bit different. You actually have to clean your surface, get your trowel out, put a bunch of glue down and set your planks into place and then wait for it to dry. So, putting the glue down, takes a lot longer and it's also harder to get up if you ever have to get under there to replace the floor or do any work underneath of the planks. One of the benefits to the glue down planks is when water gets on there, it's not going to ruin it as fast as it would with the peel and stick. The peel and stick, when you get water underneath it, they'll start to float up and you have to rip 'em out, and put a new piece in. So, there's some benefits to the glue down, it takes a little bit longer to install but there are definitely some benefits to it. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors and we just talked about peel and stick versus glue down vinyl planks. Thank you for watching and good luck with this project!
