Changing Your Address

• 1). Navigate to the USPS Website. The site will walk you through a series of questions including whether your move is temporary or permanent, the date on which you would like to begin having your mail forwarded and the nature of the move (whether individual, family or business.)
  
  
• 2). Fill out your contact information, including your complete name and your old and new street addresses. If you have an email address, it is advisable to enter this as well so that the postal service has another means of contacting you if it has a problem with delivery.
  
  
• 3). Verify your ID. Changing your address costs $1 and the USPS site requires that you enter a valid credit or debit card number. Once you have authorized this transaction and verified your billing address, your mailing address will be changed.
