How to Replace a Dodge Shadow Window Motor
- 1). Remove the two Phillips screws in the armrest using the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the cover in front of the door handle by removing the screw in the cover.
- 2). Remove the door panel by inserting the screwdriver between the door panel and the door, and prying out all the trim fasteners holding the door panel to the door. Pull the door panel away from the door enough to reach behind the panel and disconnect the electrical connectors on the window switch.
- 3). Insert the Phillips screwdriver between the window and the door frame at the top side to wedge the window so that it does not drop when the motor is removed. Remove the electrical connector from the window motor.
- 4). Remove the window motor using the ratchet and a 10mm socket. Take the three bolts out and pull the motor out of the window regulator.
- 5). Install the new motor into the window regulator mechanism, twisting the motor slightly in both directions to engage the gears. Insert the bolts and tighten. Plug in the electrical connector. Install the door panel in reverse order of removal.
