- The Palm Zire 31 is lightweight and fits in a pocket easily. The Zire 31 weighs 4.8 ounces. It is 3.0 inches wide and 4.6 inches high. At 0.7 inches deep, it is made to slide into many different compartments in briefcases and purses.
- The Palm Zire 31 features a color super-twisted nematic passive matrix display. The resolution is 160 by 160. It supports 12-bit color, which means 4,096 colors. The screen is touch-sensitive.
- For better processing than its predecessor, the Palm Zire 31 has a 200 MHz ARM Intel Xscale PXA255 Processor. The Palm Zire 31 stores thousands of different addresses, items, notes and appointments. It can also store more than 50 applications. It features 16 MB of RAM, with 2 MB set aside for the operating system itself.
- The Palm Zire 31 connects to your computer via a provided USB cable. In order to listen to audio files in the MP3 format, a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack is on the device. In order to expand available storage space, an expansion slot is included, which supports MMC, SD and SDIO expansion cards.
- The Palm Zire 31 can be recharged via a power adapter. The rechargeable battery is a lithium polymer 900 mAh. The battery allows you to work for hours without recharging. According to PalmOne, the battery lasts up to one week with normal to moderate use. Heavy use, such as playing media files, cuts battery life to approximately three to four hours.
- The operating system installed on the Palm Zire 31 is the Palm OS 5.2. Included on the device itself are 11 different applications, including Calculator, Memos, World Clock, Contacts and Hot Sync. A Software Essentials CD is included for additional applications you may need.
