How to Hook up a VCR With the TV
- 1). Turn off the TV and VCR and disconnect their power cables from the wall outlet.
- 2). Connect the VCR to the TV with the appropriate cable or cables. For example, if both your VCR and TV have RCA jacks, insert the first three colored RCA plugs on one end of the RCA cable into the identically colored "Video IN" jacks on the TV.
- 3). Insert the three colored plugs on the other end of the RCA cable into the identically colored "Video Out" jacks on the back of the VCR. For example, insert a yellow plug into a yellow jack. If your TV does not have RCA jacks, use a coaxial cable to connect the two devices. Insert one end of the coaxial cable into the "Antenna" jack on the back of the TV and the insert the other end into the "RF Out" port on the back of the VCR.
- 4). Re-connect the power cables of both devices into the power outlet, then turn them on.
- 5). Change your television's input mode to the appropriate option, such as "A/V" or "Video." Use the TV's menu to change the mode. Refer to your TV's user manual for the exact method to use to tune your TV to the correct mode.
- 6). Flip the channel switch on the VCR to "3" or "4," then turn the television channel to the same number.
- 7). Insert a VHS tape into the VCR. The tape's content appears on your TV screen.
