How to Frame a Basketball Jersey

    • 1). Iron the jersey, on the cool setting, to remove any wrinkles.

    • 2). Lay the jersey out on a flat surface, front-side down. Use one hand to form an even up-and-down crease as you fold one side of the jersey in. Adjust the fold so that there's about an inch of fabric showing on the face-down front around the number and team logo; the rest should be folded around the back of the jersey.

    • 3). Repeat the fold on the other side. There should be about an inch of fabric showing around the number and logo on the front of the jersey. Fold the bottom of the jersey up toward the top, stopping at armpit level so that no corners or edges show through the tank top sleeves. Make sure you've left about an inch of fabric under the logo and number on the front of the jersey.

    • 4). Smooth the creases and fabric to make sure you haven't introduced any wrinkles.

    • 5). Measure around the edges of your folded jersey and select a frame with a display area that's at least 2 inches longer than the jersey on each side. You might adjust the folds of the jersey to lengthen or shorten how much fabric you're displaying, if necessary, to make it fit into a certain frame.

    • 6). Remove the backing from the frame. Trim a piece of fabric for your background to the size of the backing plus about half an inch of extra fabric to either side.

    • 7). Spray a thin coating of adhesive on the frame's backing--the portion that will show through the frame behind the jersey--and apply the background fabric you selected. Smooth the fabric with a cool iron to ensure there are no wrinkles or air bubbles and let it dry for about 5 minutes. Trim any extra fabric away from the edges of the frame backing.

    • 8). Lay the front of the frame face-down near the folded jersey. Slide your fingers under the edges of the jersey and carefully lift it onto the frame, also face-down. Smooth the jersey to ensure there are no wrinkles in it.

    • 9). Slide or clip the frame backing into place, checking to make sure you're not wrinkling the jersey as you go.
