How to: Stop Switch With a Lanyard
- 1). Cut two lengths of hemp about four times longer than the end length of your lanyard. To make a 10-inch lanyard, cut two cords about 40 inches long. Fold them in half and pinch the folds together so you have two loops. Fold the two loops down over the hemp cords to create a third loop. Push the two loops through the third and tighten. This creates four separate cords below your granny knot.
- 2). Separate the cords so they lie next to each other. They are cords A to D from left to right. Bring cord A under B and C and over cord D. Bring cord D over cords C and B and up through the loop made by cord A. Pull to tighten into a half knot. Make three more half knots under that.
- 3). Take cords A and D and bring them between cords B and C. Tie cords B and C around cords A and D in two half knots. Repeat to the end of the lanyard. Tie the ends of your lanyard in a granny knot.
