Architectural Roofing Shingles

103 13
Architectural roofing shingles come in a wide variety of colors so you can match the color scheme of your roof to your home.
Because of the design of the shingles everything blends together on the roof.
One of the great advantages to these types of shingles is that they are much easier to install over many other the other types such as asphalt.
For example when using these architectural shingles you can have multiple installers working at one time and everything will match up and appear straight due to the unique design of the shingles.
The old way to install the shingles was to work from left to right and you must move ahead one row at a time.
You had to check your lines constantly to make sure everything is straight.
This would be very time consuming.
If it was not when you look down your lines they would appear very wavy and the lines of glue sometimes would appear.
In the heat from the hot sun the glue heats up and then the shingles stick together making an air tight water tight seal.
Water is your biggest enemy on any roof and if you live in Florida or any other rainy area you know the potential damage rain can have on your roof.
If you were to accidentally nail below the glue line you would need to replace the shingle other wise you would end up with a leaky roof.
When you are choosing the material for your roof the climate should be one of your major considerations.
There are a variety of choices that you are going to have to choose from with the material that you chose alone - asphalt, metal, cedar, or solar are only a few of them.
Within those choices you will have additional decisions to make.
One of the most important ways to choose the type of roofing material that you will use is by taking the climate into consideration, and than the cost within that categories.
Repairing a roof can prove to be costly and there is nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars only to have to spend additional money on repairs.
You can learn more about the materials and the best one for hot climates or cold climates by doing a little research on the internet.
Keep in mind that anything you buy is going to have pros and cons, if you learn about them before hand there will not be any surprises later on.
