How to Prevent Pella Window Breather Tubes From Plugging With Dirt

    • 1). Store each Pella window on its side, with the breather tube exiting the top corner of the window and pointing down prior to transport. Store windows in a clean, dry environment and in a location where they will not be crimped by other windows, walls and people passing by.

    • 2). Sweep or vacuum the vehicle that will transport the Pella windows to eliminate loose dirt.

    • 3). Place each window on its side in the vehicle, with the breather tube exiting the top corner of the window and pointing down. Remove any manufacturer's tape covering the breather tube and strap the windows in place with tie downs to prevent them from moving or falling. Do not tape, crimp or seal the tubes to prevent plugging during transport.

    • 4). Unload and store the Pella windows on site in a clean, dry area out of the elements. Store each window on its side, with the breather tube exiting the top corner of the window and pointing down to facilitate equalization. Always follow Pella's equalization period requirements and specifications on how to seal the breather tubes.

    • 5). Follow Pella's specifications and installation guide and install the windows.
