How to Get Your Product Key for XP
- 1). Select a product key finding and decoding software. Three options that are simple to use and compatible with Windows XP are RockXP, WunGuggle and CD Key Seizer. Download the program you select.
- 2). Run the key finding program you select. None of the three recommended programs require installation; just run the program after downloading.
- 3). Use the program to locate your product key. Look through the list of keys and make sure you locate the Windows XP key if the program you chose can locate keys for other software as well.
- 4). Write the product key down and keep it in a secure location. Copy the product key onto your install CD with a permanent marker if you are the only one who uses the media and you don't mind writing on the CD.
