It has been my observation the last few years that many of my baby boomer friends have been terminated from their jobs, have no demand for their skills, or have no customers for their business.
Not only are they too young to be retired, but they really don't have enough money saved for their retirement.
They are neither emotionally or financially ready to retire.
They have been working for the last 40 years, and all of a sudden, have nothing to do and not enough income to do it! I understand how they feel.
Technically, I am not a card-carrying member of the baby Boomer generation - I missed it by one year.
All the same, when the bubble burst and the recession hit, the demand for my business services came to an abrupt halt, my real estate was suddenly worth half of what I originally paid for it, and the value of my retirement portfolio plummeted.
