Gift Ideas for CCD Class

104 9
    • CCD, or confraternity of Christian doctrine, classes were introduced into the Catholic church in order to educate young Catholics in the foundational beliefs and practices of the church. A gift to a CCD class should be reflective of the information learned and inspire students to go further in their walk with God. Giving a gift to a CDD class will leave a lasting impression and provide the students with a tool to grow in their faith.

    Wall Hanging

    • Give a wall hanging plaque with the students' names and either the Lord's Prayer or the Apostle's Creed. This is one way to place these two important aspects of the Catholic faith before the individuals. Put a personal note in each gift to encourage and thank the students for their dedication and desire to learn more about the ways of God and the Catholic Church.

    Books

    • Provide each student with a book that will encourage them to continue learning about their faith. You can give a devotional, an inspirational book written by a pope or a recent saint. If most of the students don't have a bible, you can provide them as gifts.

A journal is another option: You can encourage students to use them as prayer journals that can be used to record prayer requests and answers to prayers, and a way to express their hearts to God.

    Christian Symbols

    • Christian symbols such as a crucifix, the trinity symbol or icons of the saints can be given in the form of jewelry, sculptures or wall art. These Christian symbols are a constant reminder of Christ and the students' dedication to him. You can either give the same symbol to all of the students or you can mix and match them. If you're an artist, you can create your own artwork with Christian symbols such as wooden crosses with scriptures painted on them.

    Personal Letter

    • Take time to contemplate and pray about what you want to say to each individual student. Write out the things you feel God wants you to say to them. You can write it out in poem form or in a letter format. Frame the letter or poem and give it as a personal gift that expresses support and belief in the student's life.
