How to Differentiate Between a True and a Social Orphan?
A true orphan
Children are regarded as "true orphans" when they are deprived of father, mother or both. It is considered their fate that they have to live rest of their life in the absence of parents. Every child needs a complete family and if a single person is missing, they deeply feel it. Neither a mother can replace a father nor can a father. And neither the guardians of an orphanage can take the place of the parents. In the presence of parents, the children are confident, secure and their every wish is fulfilled regardless of the things called cheap or inexpensive.
A Social Orphan
The true orphan suffers because of some natural calamities, but the social one has to face the hardships because of us. We are more than anyone responsible for their safe shelter, proper food and nice clothes as they are made orphans for the scarcity of such resources. Pakistan is rich in natural resources but due to the uneven distribution between social classes, the poorer are unable to have their rights. The increase number of Pakistani Orphans in our communities is for the same reasons that we have been hording money by day and nights to secure the future of our children, but neglect those relinquished flowers.
To become a prosperous nation, we need to elevate their living standards, polish their skills and offer more employment opportunities. Individually, people and various Pakistani Trusts are working for their betterment but it requires attention from the masses as well. The majority of orphans are not true in nature, because somehow their parents or the guardians have compelled them to do labor and forget about education. They are the victims of social injustice carried out at large and one day; the continuous and selfless efforts of the non-profit organizations will bring an unseen change and reduction in social orphans.
