How to Troubleshoot My Symphonic Television

    • 1). Press the power cable for the Symphonic television firmly into the wall outlet before attempting any other troubleshooting, to ensure it is fully plugged in.

    • 2). Reconnect the coaxial cable securely into your receiver box. Depending upon whether you subscribe to cable or satellite service, the coaxial cable plugs into the back of either your cable or satellite receiver. In both instances, the cable plugs into the "ANT IN" port. Turn the metal band on the end of the cable within the receiver box clockwise until you can no longer adjust it further. This tightens the cable's connection, improves signal reception on your television and rids the television of any speckled distortion.

    • 3). Examine the cable connection made between the cable or satellite receiver box and your Symphonic TV. The standard cable included with your TV is a composite audio/video cable, with a set of three prongs at each end: two white prongs, two yellow and two red. These colors match up with the colors of the composite ports on the back of the Symphonic TV and the back of the receiver. Each possesses a set of red, white and yellow ports. Ensure the prongs are inserted into the ports according to their colors.

    • 4). Adjust the video input on the Symphonic TV. Press the "Input" button on your TV's remote control to switch the video input setting. Continue pressing it until it re-selects the input assigned to your receiver box. This restores your cable or satellite programming and enables video and audio output on your TV.

    • 5). Reposition any large electronic devices, or those that may draw a substantial amount of power, around your Symphonic TV. These devices may cause electronic interference with your TV that can cause display problems. If the screen on the TV still shows irregularities or errors after troubleshooting, remove these electronics and place them in an area further away.
