How to Clean Cymbals With Lysol
- 1). Loosen and remove the wing nuts that secure the cymbals to their stands. Carefully lift off the cymbals and set the wing nuts aside.
- 2). Submerge the cymbals in a bath of warm water for two to three minutes to loosen the surface dirt. Remove the cymbals and pat them dry with a soft cloth.
- 3). Saturate a sponge with Lysol toilet bowl cleaner; wear rubber gloves to do this. Start from the middle of the cymbal and rub it clean, following the grooves outward. Apply firm pressure as you rub.
- 4). Rinse the cymbals thoroughly under cool running water and pat dry with a dry soft cloth.
- 5). Rub on a thin film of cymbal polish if desired. Let the polish dry and then buff off with a dry soft cloth.
- 6). Repeat Steps 3 through 5 for each cymbal that needs to be cleaned.
- 7). Replace the cymbals on their stands and secure using the wing nuts.
