How to: Window Treatment Hold-Backs
- 1). Measure up from the floor along each side of the window to the height that you desire to locate the hold-back using a tape measure. A rule of thumb is 35 to 40 inches up from the floor for standard 84-inch window treatments; however, you should use your own judgment and place them where you like the appearance best.
- 2). Mark the measurement with a pencil. Align each hold-back at the pencil mark in the center of the width of the window trim. Mark the mounting holes onto the window trim.
- 3). Drill a 1/2-inch-deep hole at each mounting hole mark on the window trim using a 1/16-inch pilot hole bit.
- 4). Align each hold-back in position against the window trim. Drive the provided screws through the mounting holes in the hold-backs into the window trim on either side of the window opening with a screw gun.
