Most non-profit organizations such as school clubs and athletics groups rely on school fundraiser projects in order to get their funds to continue their activities.
Whether you like it or not, fundraising activities are very helpful in making sure that these groups can go on with their respective projects and activities.
But how will you make your fundraiser profitable in order to obtain your target funds and not end up in a big failure? In this article, I am going show you how.
Communication between the PTA (Parents and Teachers Association) of your school and the school administration is one of the key components that every school fundraiser should have.
This alerts parents as well as school officials about your fundraising campaign and how they can assist you in any way they can.
Not only is the participation of the students important, but the support and assistance of their parents as well.
To do this, you need to establish a good communication between your team and the parents of your volunteers.
Update them at all times so that they will know what their children will be doing in your events.
You can even get some important connections and contacts by involving the teachers and parents of your student volunteers.
The best time to update the parents and the school about your events is during the start of the school year.
This will make it easier for them to support your fundraiser since they can still prepare their kids as well as their time for the upcoming events.
Never surprise them at the middle of the school year and make sure that you give them the whole lay-out of your fundraising plans from the beginning until the end.
You can even conduct a meeting that will further discuss and explain them all about your fundraiser; your goals and objectives, who will benefit from it and how the students can help to achieve fundraising success.
Aside from conducting a parents meeting about your fundraiser, you can also send fundraising letters for them to look into at home.
This will make sure that even though they have busy schedules at work, they will not forget about your fundraising proposal.
Make your letters presentable, readable and appealing so that they will certainly give out their help and support in your fundraising campaign.
Another way to keep parents informed about your upcoming fundraiser events is making sure that your fundraiser is featured on the school's newsletters and bulletin boards.
Most schools nowadays have newspapers that are distributed every week for their students, parents and teachers.
This will improve the public awareness of your fundraiser since they can read all about it in the school newsletters.
Aside from traditional ways of distributing valuable information about your events, you can also request the school administration to include your fundraiser events in the school website.
This will be very helpful especially for people who have access on the web.
Publishing them online is very easy and you won't have to spend anything in order to advertise your fundraiser online.
