About Suede Stain Removal
- A leather de-greaser may eliminate body oils or other grease stains, which often appear on collars. Talcum powder also can absorb oil stains if left on for several hours, then brushed off.
- Mud should be left to dry completely and then it can be gently removed with an emery board or suede brush.
- A dry cleaning solvent may remove stains on suede, including ink.
- Coffee stain removal involves gently rubbing an artist's eraser or a piece of fine sandpaper on the spot. The brush the spot to restore the texture.
- Candle wax can be removed from suede by letting it harden and then using a butter knife to rub it off. If candle dye remains, however, this is very difficult to remove at home.
