104 7
    • 1). Place a plastic tarp on the floor by the door. Push the tarp beneath the wood door to protect the floor. Sand the inside, cracked edges of the broken section of the door with rough-grit sandpaper. Continue sanding the inside edges until they appear smooth. Blow the loose dust away with compressed air.

    • 2). Apply epoxy filler to the end of a wooden paint stick. Apply the filler to the cracked ends of the door using the stick.

    • 3). Push the broken ends of the door together. Hold the broken ends of the door together for five minutes so that the filler can adhere the two sections together. Let the epoxy filler set for the amount of time specified in the instructions.

    • 4). Sand the inside edges of the cracks in the door panel with rough sandpaper. Continue sanding the inside edges until they look smooth to your eye. Blow the loose dust away from the cracks with compressed air.

    • 5). Apply wood putty to the edge of a plastic putty knife. Place the edge of the knife against the door at one end of one of the cracks. Press down on the edge as you drag the knife across the length of the crack. Lift the edge off the door when you reach the other end of the crack. Repeat this procedure as many times as needed, until the crack has been filled in with the putty.

    • 6). Place an edge of a wooden paint stick against the door at one end of the now-filled crack. Press down on the edge as you drag the stick across the length of the crack to the other end. Lift the stick off. Repeat this procedure as many times as needed until the surface where the crack is filled is even with the rest of the door.

    • 7). Repeat this procedure with the putty and the sandpaper with every crack in the door. Dispose of the stick in the trash. Let the putty set for the amount of time required in the instructions that came with it.

    • 8). Place an edge of a piece of fine-grit sandpaper against the door at one end of where the crack was. Press down on the edge as you drag the sandpaper across the length of the surface of the door where the crack was. Lift the sandpaper off the door when you reach the end. Repeat this procedure as many times as needed until the surface where the crack was appears even with the rest of the door.

    • 9). Blow off the loose dust with bursts of compressed air. The area where the door was broken can now be painted or varnished to match the rest of the door.
