Features of an IP Office
- IP Office is a modular IP telephone system produced by the Avaya Inc, a New Jersey-based firm. Avaya Inc. designed IP Office for stand-alone businesses, home offices and networked branches and head offices of small- and medium-sized enterprises. IP Office uses both voice-over IP and land-line telephone capabilities. Users can scale IP Office to connect up to 384 telephones and eight T1/E1 trunks.
- IP Office eliminated the need to have an administrator at every site that has the installed phones. The system enables the administrator to perform remote administration and management from a central location. In addition, IP Office uses advanced diagnostic technologies to identify potential problems before they can disrupt the functionality or performance of the company's telecommunication system.
- According to Avaya, the product has enhanced resiliency to power outages. IP Office delivers continuous operation by automatically switching to another location in case of a power outage in one location. During the failover, the system retains full communications capabilities.
- IP Office provides two built-in, 64-party conference bridges. Thus IP Office not only saves money on phone calls by routing them through the system and over broadband links instead of cell phone or long-distance networks, but also reduces the amount of money a company spends on conference calls.
