Types of Chiaro Tumbled Marble
- Chiaro is one of many colors available. It ranges from a light beige to a pinkish beige that makes it perfect for being used alone or combined with other colors. Instead of being installed edge to edge, tumbled marble is normally installed with a contrasting grout to accent the edges and slightly irregular surface. It presents a warm feeling for more casual decor.
- Natural finish tumbled marble is commonly in home improvement stores and looks like aged stone with rounded edges. Other tumbled marble includes the more rustic-looking antique tumbled, honed tumbled featuring a smooth matte finish and polished tumbled which has a mirror-like finish.
- Used as floor covering, tumbled marble isn't slick like polished marble and therefore safer. It is often combined with polished marble, granite, ceramic or porcelain tile to add a decorative, non-skid element to floors. This strong material is suitable for indoor and outdoor installations.
- In addition to typical tile sizes, listellos and medallions are often used to create decorative borders or inserts. Listellos are small pieces of tumbled marble in a multitude of shapes, sizes and colors arranged in mosaic-like designs adhered to a backing sheet. Grouting defines the pattern giving the border a hand-laid look. The chiaro color is widely used in combination with other colors to create attractive designs.
