About Windows Office Genuine Advantage
- Following the Windows Genuine Advantage program launched by Microsoft in 2005, the Office Genuine Advantage was launched in 2007 in an attempt to reduce software piracy regarding office tools. The Office Genuine Advantage is available for all office suites, but for versions of Windows prior to Office XP, it is optional. Starting from Office XP, Office Genuine Advantage is mandatory in order to be eligible to updates.

- To validate a copy of Microsoft Office, go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ValidateNow.aspx?displaylang=en and select "Office Validation" on the left. An ActiveX plugin will be installed that will validate the Microsoft Office suite.Your web browser must accept ActiveX controls, otherwise validation will not be possible.
