Recycling vintage fashions is nothing new, but it seems more prominent than ever this year, as well as more widely spread. What was vogue in the '50s all the way through the '80s is back again for round two. Even more exciting — in addition to nods to retro fashions, the new trends are also looking more simultaneously comfortable and stylish than they have been in years.

Cat-eye glasses and sunglasses, for example, are making a big comeback. They haven't been super popular since the '50s and '60s (since then they've been worn mostly by older women and youngsters looking for a bit of nostalgia) but in a couple months time they're set to be everywhere. Of course, as with anything that's already been a style once, these glasses will be undergoing a few modernizing tweaks.

Full skirts are back as well, both knee- and ankle-length, and are a great way to look great while avoiding the constrictiveness of mini- and fitted skirts. Get a few retro style dresses with full skirts, or just skirts on their own. They can be paired with any number of styles tops look great with just about any kind of shoe — heels, flats, boots, you name it.

Speaking of shoes, in yet another salute to comfort, kitten heels have made their way back into the mainstream. Kitten heels debuted back in the '50s, as a way for younger women to wear heels without displaying the "inappropriate" connotations of high heels. They were popularized by timeless style icon Audrey Hepburn, and by the '60s women of all ages were wearing them. They fell out of vogue over time, but now they're back, which will make looking chic and maintaining balance easier than ever.

Jumpsuits gained a lot of popularity back in the '70s, and over the past year or so they've slowly been getting it back. Of all the trends that have undergone a revamping, this one has probably seen the most. 40 years ago flared jumpsuits were the hottest thing around, while modern jumpsuits typically have skinny legs that close at the ankles.

The presence of the '80s in this seasons fashions is small, but important. Bouncing off the back of the fanny packs of yore, belt purses have become a big winner. Though they're used for the same purpose, they're miles more chic than fanny packs. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and fabrics, and can usually be worn with just about anything — pairing them with retro style full-skirted dresses or jumpsuits are a great way to break up the parity of such garments. Plus they're great for everyday life; go for one that will fit your wallet, cellphone and lipstick.

Now that you know how chic vintage style dresses and cat-eye glasses are poised to be, check out what your favorite stores have to offer — or better yet, go rummage through your mom's closet!
