Cathy - Some friends brought us here for our first camping trip in the fall of 2004. We tent camped there in June 2005. This was our second trip, and both times we had a great experience.
Campground Review
This campground is great for families and beginning campers. It has a nature center that puts on a campfire show on Saturday nights. It also has a guided nature walk on Sunday mornings.
The park rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Each site in the campground has a fire pit and a grill. There are several places to get water throughout the campground. There is a building with flush toilets, running water, lights, and showers. No pets are allowed, but there is another campground in this park for people to camp with their horses. I heard that there are over 30 miles of trails. Some are easy and some are more difficult, and many of them allow horseback riders. It's easy to get to, but far enough from the city lights that you can see the stars.
