How to Create Windows Help Documents
- 1). Use WinCHM by Softany to create Windows help documents with the aid of an interface similar to a standard HTML editor. It allows you to create help documents using HTML, or layout documents using an interface similar to a word processor. You can import HTML files to form a table of contents or create the contents, indexes and bookmarks from scratch. WinCHM provides template support to assist you.
- 2). Use Help & Manual by EC Software if you prefer a similar functionality to WinCHM, but like the Microsoft Word 2007 ribbon interface. If you do not have HTML experience, you can use the dynamic styles and formatting features to make a professional help document. You can also output files to PDF and Microsoft Word document formats.
- 3). Try Abee CHM Maker if you want a freeware solution, since the previous two programs cost money. This program only creates help documents out of any HTML documents that you import to Abee CHM Maker. Once you dragged and categorized the HTML files, you can make the CHM file and compress it to save space.
