I found out about this campground through Internet reviews, and I tent camped there in August 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
Enota is an incredible camping site, nested in the north Georgia mountains. It has four waterfalls, streams and tons of hiking trails that are good for both beginners and advanced hikers. We rented a beautiful campsite right beside a stream and little waterfall that was also secluded from surrounding campers.
Every tent site has a fire pit to hang out around, so there's no need for any TVs or radios. The perfect relaxing, stress-free trip to get away from the sounds of the city. We didn't have any kids with us, but this place seems very kid-friendly with a TV room, trampolines, pony rides and farm, in which children can help feed the animals. The staff was friendly and helpful, and everyone working there seemed genuinely excited that you were staying there.
Pros: Hiking trails, scenic views, waterfalls, friendly staff.
Cons: No detailed map of hiking trails.
Nearby attractions: Helen, GA - the largest and longest Oktoberfest in the southeast.
Further comments:
The only thing I wish the staff would have provided us that they didn't was a detailed map of the hiking trails. We didn't get lost, but it was hard to tell where the trails were going to come out, so we ended up doing some back tracking. Aside from that minor obstacle, my friends and I will definitely be returning for another stay with Enota sometime very soon.
