    General Locking Issues

    • 1). Check the format and region code for the disc on the disc case against the labels on the player if your BD-P1500 won't play a disc and the issue appears unrelated to the Parental Lock. If the disc format or region code is incompatible with your BD-P1500, push the "Open/Close" button on the remote to open the disc tray, remove the disc, put it in its case and set it aside. Insert and play a compatible disc.

    • 2). Open the disc tray on your BD-P1500, if the format and region code are compatible, and check that the disc label is facing up, as inserting the disc upside down can lock the player. If upside down, flip the disc, close the tray and attempt disc playback. If the disc isn't upside down, check the non-labeled side for scratches or marks that could interfere with playback and repair or clean the disc as needed with a disc repair and cleaning kit before reinserting it and attempting playback.

    • 3). Unplug the player to reboot it if you continue to have non-Parental Lock related playback-locking issues or the disc tray won't open. Wait five minutes. Plug in the player, turn it on and try playing the disc again.

    Parental Lock Issues

    • 1). Enter your four-digit Parental Lock password on the password screen and begin viewing your disc. If the password doesn't work, eject the disc by pushing the "Open/Close" button on the remote. Remove the disc and close the disc tray.

    • 2). Push the "Menu" button. Push the down arrow button, highlight "Setup" and then push the "OK" or right arrow button.

    • 3). Highlight and select "Parental Setup" from the options. Enter your password as prompted.

    • 4). Press the "OK" button or right arrow button to highlight and select "Parental Lock" or "Rating Level" from the menu. Press the up arrow or down arrow buttons to select "Off" on the "Parental Lock" menu to turn off Parental Lock or to choose a rating level higher than the one previously set on the "Rating Level" menu. When finished, press "OK" to save your choice.

    • 5). Go back to the "Main" menu by pushing the "Return" or left arrow buttons. Push the "Menu" button. Return the disc to the unit and push the "Play" button to begin viewing it.
