Jaundice, widely known as the yellow disease, is one of the most dreadful health complications. Deaths have been reported due to the jaundice. You need to take the good care of the person suffering with the diabetes otherwise it may lead to the serious health complications. Basically jaundice means yellowish staining of the skin. Even your eyes, nails, and tongue will get the yellowish tint. This yellowing is noted due to the excessive amount of the bilirubin present in the blood. It is the function of the liver to remove the excessive amount of the bilirubin from the blood. The bilirubin content of the blood is increased due to the malfunctioning of the liver. If the jaundice is not being treated at the initial stage then it may result into serious health complications.

The main symptom of the jaundice is yellowing of skin, eyes, nails, tongue, and palms. Dark yellow colored urine is noted as the very important symptom. It is through the urine test that occurrence of jaundice is being confirmed. Even yellowing of stools is being noted as the symptom of the jaundice. Some people may also notice the yellowing of the skin. Light fever is being observed in some cases of jaundice. One thing is assured that weakness is felt as the compulsory symptom of jaundice. Loss of appetite, abdominal pain, headache, swelling of legs, and changes in muscle tone are rarely noted symptoms of jaundice. Some other symptoms than mentioned here may also occur. As a result the bilirubin concentration from the blood is increased that leads to the jaundice. Hemolytic malaria and anemia are the causes of the jaundice in some cases. Thalassemia is also noted to cause the jaundice as it disturbs the liver functioning.
