Located south of Atlanta, Fayetteville, Georgia is an escape of the headaches of big-city life. It has just two public golf courses, but another less than five miles away.
Between the three facilities, they have a lot to offer. From Scottish stylings to big-name designers to even a short executive course, Fayetteville is a good golfing option, and the city is easily accessible from either Interstate 75 or 85. - The Champions Club at Rivers Edge, formerly known as Fayetteville Golf Club, is a par-71 public golf course located less than 30 minutes from the bustling Atlanta International Airport. The course, which was designed by Bobby Weed, is situated on the banks of the Flint River. Played all the way back, it's 6,810 yards long with a USGA (United States Golf Association) rating of 72.9 and a slope rating of 135. Featuring rolling hills and Bentgrass greens, it was voted Georgia's "Best New Public Course" in 1990.

770-460-1098 - Whitewater Country Club, which was designed by golfing legend Arnold Palmer, is a course that offers two distinct experiences between its front and back nine. On the front, trees that line the fairway help to keep this course tight and challenging. On the back, it becomes more open, but water becomes more of a factor. All total, water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes.
Carts are mandatory, and a tee time, which must be made three days in advance, is required.

canongategolf.com - Located less than five miles from the center of Fayetteville, the Links Golf Club is a very relaxed golfing experience. Tee times are never required and denim is even allowed on the course. There are limits to the relaxation as alcohol is not available.
At The Links is an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course, also known as a Par 3 or short course.
The 18-hole course has the styling of a Scottish course with water coming into play on one-third of the holes. The course is 6,800 yards long from the back tees and plays to a par 70. It has a USGA rating of 69.4 and a slope rating of 118. The executive course is said to be suitable for beginning players.
