How to Replace Food Stamps
- 1). Call your local food stamp office immediately if you suspect your EBT card is lost or stolen. This will not only ensure that you get a replacement card issued as soon as possible, but it will also preserve any food stamp benefits you stand to lose should someone access your card. The food stamp office will not replace any food stamps lost or stolen prior to when the card is reported missing.
- 2). Explain your situation to the representative at the food stamp office. Be sure to state that you want your old card canceled immediately to ensure that no food stamps are stolen. You should also ask about your current balance to make sure no food stamps have been stolen yet.
- 3). Create a new PIN. Be sure it is easy for you to remember, but difficult for anyone else to guess.
- 4). Wait for your new EBT card to come in the mail in about three days.
