How to Patch a Hole in a Tire in an Acura Integra
- 1). Stop the car when you notice the flat and park it in a level location away from traffic flow. In order to patch the tire on the Integra, you need a level terrain to remove the tire.
- 2). Look inside the spare for the tool bag containing the jack, lug wrench and jack handle extension and turn the screw on the mount counter clockwise to release the jack. Place blocks in front of the front and back wheels on a diagonal to the bad tire.
- 3). Twist the lock on the wheel cover to 90 degrees to remove the cap. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off. Make a half-turn on the lug nuts to loosen them. Insert the jack so the frame fits in the recess at a point nearest the tire. Jack the car up.
- 4). Find the object that caused the flat. Remove the offending object and mark the spot with chalk.
- 5). Open your tire plug kit and remove the rasp, a round file. Insert this into the hole a couple of times to rough it up. Thread the tarry noodle through the eye of the needle tool in the kit to the middle of the noodle and insert the tool into the hole until only about 1/2 inch of the black noodle remains on the outside.
- 6). Pull the tool holding the black tarry noodle straight out and let the noodle remain in the hole. Trim off the ends level with the tread.
- 7). Fill the tire with the appropriate pressure found on the inside of the door or under the lid of the trunk. Put the patched tire back on the Integra.
