Let's say you're ready to pull out all of the stops for your teeth and you've decided to try and get some more Vitamin D through your diet. There are many different foods that can help you accomplish this and although you might not love all of them you will like some of them. Our little list covers both sweet and savory foods. They can be snacks or parts of meals. Here's what we found:

-Cod Liver Oil. This is your most efficient source of Vitamin D. You can't really cook with it but you can mix into a smoothie, add to a salad dressing, or enjoy with a little bit of maple syrup. Many people will just swallow a spoonful without any complaints.

-Swordfish and Salmon. We've all got out own preferences for preparing these fish. Just a three ounce serving of either will give you more than day's supply of Vitamin D.

-Tuna, canned. This gives you about 1/3rdof the Vitamin D that salmon provides but it's quick and easy to prepare.

-Orange Juice, fortified. One cup will give you about as much Vitamin D as three ounces of canned tuna.

-Milk, all fat grades and fortified. This will give you about as much as Vitamin D as a cup of fortified orange juice.

-Yogurt, fortified. This will have a little less than milk or orange juice but it's also a great source of protein and a popular way to start your day.

-Margarine, fortified. This has a little less Vitamin D than yogurt and its popularity for cooking and as a spread is waning but one tablespoon will give you about 20% of your daily requirement of Vitamin D.

-Sardines, canned. Two sardines will give you about 1/8th of your daily suggested intake of Vitamin D.

-Eggs. The Vitamin D is in the yolk. One egg provides about 10% of your daily suggested Vitamin D.

-Cereal, breakfast and fortified. One bowl will yield about 10% of your daily Vitamin D but watch out for the sugar and the refined grains. Those two won't help your teeth a bit!

-Cheese, Swiss. One ounce of cheese will provide a modest amount of Vitamin D.

-Tofu and Dairy alternatives. As an example, one serving of soy yogurt will give you about 20% of your daily Vitamin D.
