Welcome to Karnavati School of Dentistry, imparting unprecedented level of Dentistry Education. KSD is the latest mission of Karnavati Educational and Medical Trust, a charitable body registered under Bombay Trust Act, 1950 at Ahmedabad, India, in order to meet the growing demand for dental education in India. Spread over 33 acres of land, Karnavati School of Dentistry is strategically located 6 kms away from Gandhinagar City and 23 kms from Ahmedabad City of Gujarat on the by- lane of National Highway No. 8. The KSD block is spread over 205,000 sq. ft. area.

Career in Dentistry
Dentistry is a rewarding career option that deals with the study relating to mouth, teeth, gums and other hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity. Dentists are the professionals who provide dental care and corrections (in the form of surgery or medical treatment) required for the patients. The opportunities available include working in Dental Clinics, Nursing Homes, and Dental Departments of Multi Specialty Hospitals as well as Dental Colleges in India and abroad. A dentist also has the option of being a faculty in any one of the approx. 250 dental college spread across the length and breadth of this country.
Self-employment is also an avenue available with all dentists. Being highly lucrative, this option is exercised by a majority of the dentists in India and abroad. Moreover, apart from the financial prospects it also gives the dentists a very high degree of independence. In this option of self employment, a person can work on an individual or partnership basis.
Admission toB.D.S. Course
General Information:
Karnavati School of Dentistry admits 100 students in B.D.S. course every year. For the academic year 2010-11, fifteen (15) seats under the NRI quota and ten (10) seats under the management quota shall be filled by the college itself, while the remaining 75 seats under the open category shall be filled by the Central Admission Committee.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for admission in BDS course under the NRI category in KSD, students must have completed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination and scored a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Eligibility for admission under the management quota and the open category shall be as per the rules and regulation of Government of Gujarat.
The students who have cleared their qualifying examination from a country other than India are required to get their high school diplomas evaluated by The Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and obtain an "Equivalence Certificate" from the said association.
How to Apply (Academic Year 2010-11):
For the admissions in the Open Category, the aspiring students are required to apply in the prescribed form of Central Admission Committee whose details would be published in leading newspapers of Gujarat.

Fees:
The Tuition Fees for B.D.S.(Open / Management) for the Academic Year 2010-11 is Rs.2,35,000/- p.a. payable in two equal installments at the start of each term.
The Tuition Fees for B.D.S.(NRI) for the Academic Year 2010-11 is Rs.5,00,000/- or its equivalent in US $ payable yearly in advance.
