A screwdriver is a specialised tool that is designed to drive the screw down or loosen it out.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the tool.
    This is one fundamental aspect because this will help you understand the purpose of a screwdriver no matter how simple it may seem.
    Understand that screwdrivers have different types and each type corresponds to a specific screw head.
    Using the appropriate type will keep you from unintentionally stripping your screw.
  2. Always remember that there are three basic screw head types which are the following: slotted, crosshead, and socket or hex.
    Each head type has a corresponding screwdriver type.
    Always use the specific type when screwing or unscrewing.
  3. Drivers also come in different sizes.
    Therefore, that you use the right size.
    Using the wrong the size can damage the screw head and when this happens, it is close to impossible to drive the screw down the surface.
  4. It is always best to have a screwdriver set in your house.
    These tools can come in handy especially when you are doing some minor repairs around the house.
  5. This tool is important but that does not necessarily mean that you should keep it even when it is already worn down.
    When the tips are damaged, then it is time for you to replace them.
    A damaged tip will not be as efficient as it used to be.
