Homemade Wood Furniture Cleaner
- Make a homemade furniture polish and cleaner from vinegar and oil. Vinegar is a mild but powerful cleaning agent that pulls dirt from wood furniture. Oil moisturizes the wood and keeps it from drying out. Measure out distilled white vinegar in 1/4 cup increments and pour it into an empty spray bottle. For every 1/4 cup of vinegar, add 3 or 4 drops of olive oil. Screw on the spray bottle top, shake to combine the oil and vinegar mixture, and you're ready to begin cleaning your wood furniture.
- For a citrus-scented homemade wood cleaner, substitute lemon juice for distilled white vinegar. Acidic lemon juice cleans as well as vinegar and it leaves a more pleasant scent.
If you're cleaning dark stained wood furniture items, you can use organic apple cider vinegar. This variety of vinegar is actually the best for cleaning; however, it may stain wood pieces with lighter finishes.
