How to Convert MSN Money Files to Quicken
- 1). First rename MSN Money files to shorten below 15 characters if necessary to make compatible to Quicken then backup your Money file to your hard drive or a removable disc.
- 2). Second create a new Quicken data file to avoid mixing previous financial data if you have files already created.
- 3). Download the Quicken Data Converter. To find the Quicken Data Converter go to Quicken support and get the moneytogdf.exec file and download it, saving the file to your desktop.
- 4). Double click on the downloaded converter file and install it. It should be located in your program files folder named as Data Converter.
- 5). Get instructions to start the Data Converter by clicking on help or going to the Quicken support page later. Remember to choose the right directions corresponding to the year version of your MS Money data.
- 6). Go through directions to run the Quicken Data Converter and Quicken will then prompt you to upgrade to the newest version, and go ahead and choose yes to upgrade.
- 7). Once Quicken has converted as much of your MSN Money data as it can you can make adjustments and transfer additions to your import file.
- 8). Once all data is transferred, you will be able to use your Money files in Quicken format by following the instructions on the help page on learning how to use Quicken.
